Free Satellite TV On The Internet

Why pay more than $90 a month for Satelite TV, when you can get 1000's of channels on your PC. Find out how here.

You might have visited many websites claiming that they are offering free satellite TV. However, free satellite TV on the Internet is actually just a myth. As this article tries to demonstrate, there is no such thing as free satellite TV and all those advertisements are just trying to catch your eye.

Free Satellite TV

You might hear the expression of free satellite TV in two situations:

l In the commercials that television providers are showing as part as their marketing campaign. What they are actually talking about is free installation and free equipment. After your system is installed, you will still have to pay the monthly fee even for the basic programming package.
l On websites that sell pirate satellite TV on the Internet. Pirates do provide free DTV or Dishnet cards that are reprogrammed so that you can get all programming channels without having to pay for a subscription. However, you will actually have to pay a high price later on.

Television Networks & Piracy

There are many pirates out there selling satellite TV on the Internet. They are claiming to offer free television services and they actually do. They give you a reprogrammed card that will enable you to watch all the programming channels provided by the television network they are stealing from.

However, this is only half of the truth. The other half is that television networks have found a few ways to fight piracy, even though they still haven't defeated it. One thing they often do is hit pirates cards 1-3 times a week. This means your pirate card will need to be reprogrammed just as often. This is where pirates get their money.

Pirates who are selling satellite TV on the Internet do have to pay for the receiver, the dish, the card, the LNB and so on. This means they could not be offering everything for free. They have to get their money from somewhere. Every time your card needs to be reprogrammed, you have to pay a certain fee to have them fix this for you. You will end up paying between $25 and $50 a month and sometimes even more, plus the money you will spend on gas to the guy that reprograms your card a few times a week.

What Else Can Go Wrong?

In addition to running back and forth to have your card reprogrammed, there are also some other things that can go wrong. The person that sold you pirate satellite TV on the Internet may get out of business when he feels it's not working any more. Then when television networks will hit pirate cards again, you will have no one to reprogram your card for you.

Purchasing pirate satellite TV on the Internet runs another risk. Television networks will eventually change their data stream and plastic cards will become useless. At this point, the person that sold you pirate satellite TV on the Internet can pull out another offer which may not be as convenient as the previous one.

Free satellite TV on the Internet is actually a scam. You may be tempted to fall for it, but eventually all the trouble to have your card fixed several times a week will cost you more than a legal subscription to a reliable television network.

Why pay more than $90 a month for Satelite TV, when you can get 1000's of channels on your PC. Find out how here.
