Galaxie and MaxTrax are licensed satellite-delivered music streams distributed by direct broadcast satellite and digital cable services, requiring satellite dishes or coaxial cable lines not required by the XM or Sirius systems.

The battle to bring a domestic satellite radio service to Canada is heating up on the political front. If you plan on listening to satellite radio exclusively in your car, consider going with a dedicated car satellite radio tuner. Critics of satellite TV have indicated there are reception problems during heavy rains or snowfall. In the US market, there's two players: XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio.
